- This herbaceous perennial needs bright light (not direct sun) and humidity to bloom. It has an unusual flower, a yellow spadix with a red spathe, that will bloom frequently if given moist soil with well-drained potting mixture. In many areas, it does well indoors. Leaves are evergreen. This plant is seen in Hawaii but can be grown in other areas. It can get to 1.5' tall and almost 1' wide.
